London – Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club expressed no interest in Lukas Podolski, whose future at the Emirates is currently being speculated.
Later came the news that Podolski could move to another club in order to get a chance to play more than he get along with the Gunners today.
Podolski’s future at Arsenal was actually already several times dogged by speculation. But the 29-year German international striker it now seems to really want to go.
In the middle of this week Podolski also claimed to get information from his agent that Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs already showed interest in him. “I love London, I love this club. But I do not like the situation,” he said at the International Business Times.
“I’m not a clown who will just sit waiting for his contract runs out. I need to talk to Arsene Wenger. I want a fair chance, let me play. And when I‘ve appeared in 10 games and have not been impressed, I will happily stand in line again in the back row, “he said at the time.
Wenger himself has now said that there is no club that expressed interest to Podolski while stating that the player is facing a tough competition jockeying for position in the team.
“No club asked him. He faces heavy competition. He has a tremendous attitude and work very hard,” said Wenger in Sports Mole.
