“We have to wait and see. I’m not a doctor. Maybe tomorrow I‘ll know more, but I think he will not play against Crystal Palace (on November 8),” said Van Gaal at the BBC, after his team’s 0-1 defeat of City .
Rojo‘s absence certainly makes Van Gaal getting a headache thinking about the back line. He had previously been lost Rafael and Phil Jones were injured. Meanwhile, Chris Smalling will be undergoing a suspension due to a red card in the match at the Etihad.
In the present condition, one of the options held by Van Gaal is menduetkan Michael Carrick – who plays quarterback original – with McNair in the heart of the defense.
“Michael Carrick is very good, as well as Paddy McNair. I’m glad they showed it,” said Van Gaal.
“However, this is a disaster – so many injured players back and you have to play with a different defense every week,” he said.
