LONDON – Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, pleaded not a problem to be faced Chelsea in the semi-finals in 2014. Liverpool’s Capital One Cup, he said, will do our best to qualify for the final.
Liverpool stepped into the semifinals after beating Bournemouth 3-1 at the Goldsands Stadium, Wednesday (12/17/2014). Meanwhile, a day earlier, Chelsea had already qualified thanks to a 3-1 win over Derby County at IPRO Stadium.
Liverpool will first host Chelsea at Anfield Stadium in mid-January 2015. While the third week, the second leg will be held at the Stamford Bridge Stadium next week.
“The most important thing is that we move (to the semifinals). It would be a very difficult match for us, but our performance was very good and it will help us to make a two-leg semi-final,” Rodgers said as reported by Skysports.
Other semifinal party bring Tottenham Hotspur with Sheffield United. Tottenham to qualify after a 4-0 win over Newcastle United, while Sheffield drove after getting rid of Southampton 1-0.
