LONDON – Jose Mourinho seems to be very serious in the English League Cup stage. Because the Chelsea manager will reduce the strength of the best when the Blues against Derby County in the quarter-finals of the event, Tuesday (12/16/2014).
Only England defender Gary Cahill, who certainly was not in the squad against Derby, while the Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, who missed the team‘s 2-0 win over Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday (13/12), due to accumulated cards yellow, will return to play.
“We do not have a problem. The players fit, the players are not tired, the players are in good condition so that there is no particular reason for not lowering a strong team,” Mourinho told Chelsea‘s official website on Monday (15/12).
“Currently we do not talk about other competitions, we just talk about the League Cup. It’s a tough opponent and we had to come up with a strong team.”
Chelsea, who currently leads the Premier League standings, will be visited IPRO Stadium, a place where when they won 2-0 at Derby in the FA Cup third round last January. John Obi Mikel and Oscar became an important figure in the day.
However, Mourinho remains wary of the team that made Steve McClaren, who judged the more powerful and definitely have more motivation.
“Derby is a strong team and they are stronger today,” added Mourinho. “This match League Cup, quarter-finals, a great motivation for them and we have to match the motivation was thus greater talent we can win.”
Derby is currently ranked third in the Championship. They are only one point of Bournemouth and Middlesbrough.
