LEICESTER, – Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, said, Vincent Kompany and Edin Dzeko will be absent due to injury until this year ends.
Kompany suffered the injury during a successful defense of Manchester City‘s 1-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League game at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, Saturday (12/13/2014). Meanwhile, Dzeko does not appear in the game.
“Kompany experiencing the same problem when a hamstring injury a few weeks ago. It was one of the reasons why he did not play against AS Roma, the middle of last week,” Pellegrini said after the game.
“Meanwhile, Dzeko has a calf injury. Maybe, it took several weeks for him to recover. We have to find a solution. It is unfortunate we lost a player because of a muscle injury,” said Pellegrini.
Manchester City still have three games remaining before the turn of the year. The Citizens will face Crystal Palace (12/20/2014), West Bromwich Albion (12/26/2014), and Burnley (12/28/2014). Pellegrini does not believe Kompany and Dzeko could be involved in the three games.
“Impossible Kompany and Dzeko ready to play before the New Year. We will look at the condition of Kompany. However, I think they will not play until the end. We did not want to complain about the injury,” said Pellegrini.
