Turin – Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta revealed that two senior players, Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini, was unable to offer than any other club. But both refused and decided to stay.
Juve actually has not officially announced a contract extension that runs Buffon and Chiellini end of this season, but is believed to be a matter of time. Marotta has indicated a commitment from both players.
The man who also served as CEO of the Department of Sport claims Juventus Buffon and Chiellini getting serious offers from outside Italy, but rejected it.
“When Buffon renew his contract, he previously received a salary proposal of an overseas team with a net value of 10 million euros. But he decided to renew the contract with us,” said Marotta told Tuttosport.
“Similarly, Chiellini, who throughout the summer have the opportunity to move abroad with a fairly large contract, but he decided to update it with us,” he told Sky Sports.
Not to forget, Marotta also touched Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba are all summer long ago rumored to leave. Vidal tightly linked with Manchester United, while Pogba sought a number of clubs.
